A Little More About The Mercian Scribes
Mercian Scribes is a calligraphy organisation started in Lichfield in 2004. We are affiliated to the Calligraphy and Lettering Art Society.
At present we have about 30 members ranging in ability as calligraphers from beginners to fairly advanced. Some of us attend weekly calligraphy classes, but others enjoy it on a more informal basis.
We have monthly workshops, held on a Saturday generally led by a professional tutor. Each workshop is different and this adds to everybody’s experience. A quarterly newsletter, Subscribe, is produced by us and this reviews the workshops and other things of interest.
