We did it. Mercian Scribes successfully hosted the CLAS Regional Day for 2006.
Thanks to the hard work of Mercian Scribes the day was one to remember. All the feedback we are receiving is very positive and it seems people had an enjoyable time.
We do hope everyone who attended had fun because this was our aim. We are a small and young society so it was a huge undertaking for us, so well done to all the people involved.
The lectures by Mary and Manny were both informative and inspiring and we hope people enjoyed them, thank you both for your support. Our thanks goes also to all the demonstrators; Suzanne Murray, John Neilson, Martin Wenham, Brian Walker, Clare Whittaker, Vivien Lunniss, Margaret Morgan and Nancy Ouchida-Howells; also Martin from Penmandirect and Charlie from Calligraphity who all helped make it a wonderful day.
The exhibition, with work by lots of local calligraphy societies, held more than 125 pieces, your contribution to the day was very much appreciated.
Did we mention we only had three and a half hours to set everything up!
If you wish to send us your comments or reviews of the day please do and we will put them on the website. We hope to have images of the day to show everyone very soon so visit again.
Congratulations everyone.
